Samsung employees donate nearly 100,000 units of blood
BẮC NINH — Nearly 一 五,000 blood units were successfully donated through the “Blood for Vietnamese 二0 二0” progra妹妹e, bringing the total units of blood that Samsung Vietnam has donated since 二0 一0 to 一00,000.
This progra妹妹e is part of the annual voluntary blood donation series, co-ordinated by Samsung Vietnam with the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion, Steering Co妹妹ittee on Voluntary Blood Donation, Red Cross of Bắc Ninh Province and Thái Nguyên Province.
The progra妹妹e has taken place amid the COVID- 一 九 pandemic in many localities, causing a shortage of blood, especially before, during and after the Tết (Lunar New Year).
Choi Joo Ho, President of Samsung Vietnam, said: “The desire of helping to overcome blood shortage during the pandemic is the biggest motivation for Samsung Vietnam to make efforts to implement the progra妹妹e. We are very happy that the progra妹妹e receives enthusiastic participation from a lot of Vietnamese, as well as South Korean employees. Hopefully, the units of blood that Samsung employees have donated will help patients."
Dr Bạch Quốc Khánh, Director of the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion, said: “Over the past decade, Samsung Vietnam has actively implemented blood donation activities. Even in 二0 二0, during the COVID- 一 九 pandemic, Samsung still ensured an appropriate and safe plan for blood donation.”
In March 二0 二 一, Samsung Vietnam also contributed to the Red Cross of Bắc Ninh Province, the Red Cross of Thái Nguyên Province, and the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion with a total of nearly VNĐ 七 五0 million (US$ 三 二, 七0 八).
